His teacher gets the angel. I get whatever's left.
His focus is better. His teacher says he's "a different kid." He earned all his points yesterday and the class actually clapped for him.
But my 7-year-old hasn't finished a meal in two weeks. His lunchbox comes home full. Last night he sat at the dinner table and just stared at his plate like food was a chore. He used to inhale chicken tenders. Now he gags on them.
And then 4pm hits.
The Vyvanse wears off and it's like someone flipped a switch. The sweet, focused boy the teacher gets all day? I don't see him. I get the meltdown. The screaming. The throwing things. Last Tuesday he hit his little sister during a rage and five minutes later didn't even remember doing it.
The teacher gets the angel. I get whatever's left.
I called his doctor. She said the crash is "normal" and the appetite thing "usually levels out."
It's been four months. Nothing has leveled out. I'm watching my son shrink Monday through Friday and explode every afternoon and I'm supposed to just... wait?
Here's the thing nobody prepares you for with Vyvanse: it works. It genuinely works. And that makes it so much harder. Because how do you stop something that's working at school when the cost is his appetite, his sleep, his evenings, and honestly? His personality on weekends when we skip it.
A mom in this group said something that hit different:
"Don't stop the Vyvanse. Just fill the gaps it can't cover. Saffron calms the pathways the stimulant doesn't touch — the anxiety, the crash, the rage. Without killing his appetite more."
I wasn't looking to replace his meds. They were doing the big thing. I just needed the rest of my kid back.
So I added one saffron gummy alongside his Vyvanse. Same dose. Same routine. Just one extra thing.
What happened next
The 4pm meltdown turned into a 4pm grumpy moment. Manageable. Human.
He ate lunch at school. The whole thing. His teacher sent me a photo.
Bedtime without Clonidine for the first time in months. He just... fell asleep.
Yesterday he came home from school and said "mom, I'm hungry" before I even offered a snack.
I almost cried in the kitchen.
My husband said he feels like we finally have the full picture — the focus AND the kid. Not one or the other.
If you're stuck in that impossible place where the Vyvanse is working but you're losing your child in all the ways it doesn't cover...
You don't have to choose between a focused kid and a kid who eats, sleeps, and doesn't fall apart at 4pm.

Middle School Success
My middle schooler started these gummies about three weeks ago. In the last two weeks he is suddenly getting his homework finished during school and is completing his select band assignments early instead of at the last minute. We've had zero battles over school work the past two weeks—it's been eerily calm and we don't feel like we are walking on eggshells around his mood swings. He's waking up easier, and has started doing his morning chores without any reminder.

His Teachers Were Amazed
My 8 year old has mild ADHD and I really didn't want to medicate him — we just finished our second bag of these and his conferences his teachers asked me what had changed? I showed them the bag, and they were amazed.

I Have My Kid Back
I think the gummies are working. We haven't had a meltdown since my son started taking them. It has been about 2 weeks. His mood is better. I have my kid back.
